The Job
Wastege was appointed to support the Environment Agency with a major site clearance in Dorset, involving the removal of approximately 4,000 tonnes of illegally dumped waste. The site had become unusable due to the scale of the waste accumulation, including hazardous materials that required specialist handling and disposal.
The project presented a significant logistical challenge, with a large volume of waste needing to be cleared within a tight timeframe. The priority was to restore the site safely and efficiently while ensuring that all hazardous waste was managed in accordance with relevant environmental legislation and disposal requirements.
Our Solution
Working in collaboration with the Environment Agency, Wastege mobilised a dedicated team to undertake the extensive site clean-up. Our staff worked intensively over a two-week period to remove the accumulated waste, coordinating the clearance to ensure the work progressed efficiently and safely.

In just two weeks, approximately 4,000 tonnes of waste were removed, successfully restoring the site and making it safe and usable once again. The project demonstrated Wastege’s ability to deliver large-scale waste clearance contracts efficiently, even when faced with significant volumes of illegally dumped waste and challenging site conditions.
