Challenge

The problem was that the ash would not carry on the feeder belt. The system could not be stopped, so a alternative method of transporting the ash to the top of the silo was required, until modifactions were complete.

Solution

Wastege supplied a ‘automatic feed hopper’ to be placed on top of the silo and a vacuum system to draw the material through 4 inch pipes to the ‘Hopper’.

Conclusion

A number of technical issues had to be overcome to maintain the system, which went so well the initially short term fix, turned into a 6 month operation. This enabled the site to continue operating, until measures were taken to resolve the problem.
